Central Artist: Bob Marley
Bob Marleys real name was Robert Nesta Marley OM (February 6, 1945-1981) and he was born in Nine Miles, Jamaica. He was a Jamaican singer-songwriter and guitarist pioneered reggae music by fusing reggae, ska and rocksteady music together and he has 11 children. In 1963, Bob Marley and two of his friends (Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer) formed the group 'The Wailers'. He found solace in music by infusing his music with spirituality and peace.
Bob Marley's most famous song was 'The Redemption Song' which he created with the Wailers. This song shows a theme of freedom and resilience from one of the lyrics in the song stating, "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds." This song uses his acoustic guitar and his voice which shows how powerful and meaningful the message he shows behind this song.

1. The Fugees
The Fugees was an American hip-hop group which started in the early 1990's. The Fugees consisted of Wyclef Jean, Pras Michel and Lauryn Hill. The Fugees were influenced by Marley's fusion of blending reggae with other musical genres like hip-hop, soul, R&B and more while showing matters about the world in song. Also, it inspired them to bring reggae music of hope and struggle into their own songs for everyone to hear. 2. Damian Marley
Damian Marley is known as one of the sons of the most popular Jamaican artist ever which is Bob Marley. At a very young age, Damian was always around reggae music because of his father and developed musical and instrumental talents because of him. He was highly influenced by his father by creating his own style of music which is reggae and hip-hop. Damian used lyrics to develop a passion and gift. 3. Matisyahu
Matthew Paul Miller, known as 'Matisyahu', is an American reggae singer, rapper, beatboxer and musician. In his early teens, he developed a liking to music that showed spiritually and listen to reggae music that made him change his views on the current life that he is living which is Jewish. He developed a tune of reggae songs and culture by growing dreadlocks and listening to music by Bob Marley and his songs of Rastafarian religion. Tarrus Riley is a Jamaican American contemporary reggae singer and a member of the Rastafarian movement. Bob Marley's Legacy
When Bob Marley died due to cancer, he was awarded and honored by having his own star, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Walk of Fame. His house in Jamaica was turned into the Bob Marley Museum. He was also given his own statue in Kingston, Jamaica and had a documentary and biopic made about him.
